Nicholas Whiteley is responsible for overseeing subsurface, drilling and well performance across Crescent Petroleum’s asset portfolio. He also supports new business development. Prior to joining Crescent Petroleum in 2025, Nicholas spent eight years at DNO ASA in Oslo, where he held the roles of Subsurface & Exploration Director and later Commercial Director. Earlier in his career, he held positions with Cairn India, TNK-BP, and BP. His career has spanned some of the world’s leading hydrocarbon basins including the Zagros (Iraq and Iran), Lower Congo Basin, Volga-Urals, North Sea, Arabian Gulf, South Caspian and Barmer Basins. Nicholas holds a DPhil in Geochemistry and Palaeoceanography from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and an MA in Earth Sciences from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
